Namecheap domain renewal reminders: how they work and how agencies avoid missing them

Updated 21 October 2026

If your agency manages client domains at Namecheap, the registrar's own reminders are only part of the picture. Here's what Namecheap documents, and where the gaps usually are for agencies.

What Namecheap documents

The ICANN baseline

For gTLDs such as .com, every ICANN-accredited registrar must send at least two reminders before expiry, roughly one month and one week before, plus one notice within five days after expiry. Reminders go to the registered name holder.

Where agencies get caught out

Tracking Namecheap domains alongside everything else

RenewRoster reads each domain's expiry date and registrar from public RDAP/WHOIS records, so you don't need Namecheap logins. It alerts your team at 60, 30, 14 and 3 days and can remind the client under your agency's brand.
